Opportunity:
Lozano Smith is seeking a dedicated Labor & Employment Attorney to join our Sacramento team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney who thrives on meaningful work, values collaboration, and wants to make a lasting impact on communities throughout California. Whether you bring a few years of experience or are a seasoned attorney, we are looking for individuals with a passion for public agency work and a solid foundation in employment law.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advise public agency clients on personnel matters including hiring, discipline, and termination.
- Handle matters related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and employee leave laws.
- Represent clients in administrative hearings, grievance arbitrations, and collective bargaining negotiations.
- Assist clients with labor compliance, policy development, and internal investigations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices on complex, high-impact cases.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Strong interest and/or experience working with public agencies or school districts.
- Knowledge of California labor and employment laws.
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment with a “no jerks” culture.
- California Bar admission required.
Salary: $125,000 - $225,000/year
The posted range represents the full span for the role and does not indicate that every hire will be placed at the top of the range.
